The Soldier Borne Sensor (SBS) is a very small unmanned aerial system and Situational Awareness (SA) tool, providing the squad/platoon with an organic, “quick look” capability for near real-time video feeds of larger, complex, and restrictive environments during day, night, and reduced visibility conditions. Procuring and fielding SBSs will reduce Soldiers’ exposure to potential threats and enhance freedom of maneuver. These SBSs will reduce exposure and increase freedom of maneuver by providing actionable information to support decisions at the lowest echelon.
